Disclosure: The Farmers Branch Aquatics Center provided my family with a day pass for indoor swimming and compensated my time writing this post.
Sunday was a gray and rainy day. Everyone was feeling a little blah from post-Halloween-let-down. In other words, Sunday was a perfect day to recreate some summer fun at the indoor swimming pool of the Farmers Branch Aquatics Center. Thanks to the Farmers Branch Aquatics Center for inviting us to tour the facility and swim!
The Farmers Branch Aquatics Center has an amazing outdoor waterpark swimming area called The Frog Pond, which is open during the summer. But what I didn’t realize was that there is an indoor pool perfect for swimming all year round–called the Margaret Young Natatorium.
The indoor pool is split into two parts, the lap pool and the therapy pool. The lap pool has 4 lanes, 25 yards long and ranges in depth from 4 ft 6 in to 8 ft. The therapy pool is 767 square feet and ranges in depth from 3 ft 5 in to 4 ft 5 in.
Phil and I alternated swimming with Jaye and hanging out with Cy. The pool was the perfect temperature. Jaye was feeling a little hesitant swimming on her own, so she used one of the available puddle jumpers, making the outing so much more fun for everyone. The Farmers Branch Aquatic Center also offers swim lessons and fitness water aerobics classes.
But my favorite feature of the Farmers Branch Aquatics Center is the party room you can rent! It’s the door at the very edge of this picture, just off the therapy pool. If you have a summer birthday, the party room is also accessible from the outdoor swimming area. But you are no longer limited to pool parties in the summer! You can rent the party room for a year-round swim party by the hour. They also offer an awesome birthday package: $150 for ten kids (plus one adult per kid), party room, all-day swimming, drinks, and tableware.
