Pumpkin Village

Even though the weather doesn't feel like it here in Texas, it is technically fall. Which means we must do "fall-ish" things, like cook lots of stews (in the past 2 weeks, I've made 2 killer stews, so delicious), drink pumpkin flavored drinks and eat pumpkin flavored food, and of course pose for pictures with pumpkins. Huffhines Park, Richardson TX

Huffhines Park is a fun park with unique features in East Richardson. The playground area is surrounded by trees, but isn't actually very shady itself. However, the trees make a beautiful backdrop and natural environment. Picnic tables, benches, and pavilions are scattered amongst the trees. Cottonwood Park, Richardson TX

Cottonwood Park is a well-shaded and well-loved park super close to our neighborhood. The park area is one of the biggest we've been to, though the actual playground is average sized. There is a big field for playing soccer in, a sand volleyball court, a city pool, and paths for strolling around the creek. In the center of the larger park, the playground is tucked in among the trees. Most of the play equipment stays shady. Woodland Park is really three parks in one! There are 3 separate play areas (plus a nearby school playground), and it took me several trips to the park to notice all of them.
